[The video switches on and Tommy's chilling out. If you look closely, you can catch sight of a clothes dryer in the background.]
Hello! Tommy D again. ..I was wondering if it might be possible to get a torch for me to have? I'm not certain how it works here. I have tokens and I have pounds, but I haven't seen any mentions of either thus far.
I'm also.. Well, I'm a bit worried about not being sorted. I don't mind waiting. It's just, I hadn't realized this was the sort of thing where you wait for your letter to arrive and it might arrive much earlier or much later. Is that how it is?
[Tommy looks awkwardly off screen after a pause, then back, but his voice is much quieter.]
I believe I may have flooded the wash room. Could someone help me please?

Date: 2011-09-02 05:31 pm (UTC)I wouldn't worry about not getting an inmate. Jane didn't have one for a while, and she got one this month.
How did you do that?

Date: 2011-09-03 12:08 am (UTC)Sounds like a daylighter... sort of? What kind of light does it produce? Do they only last for a limited time?

Date: 2011-09-03 02:04 am (UTC)Well it.. it lasts until the batteries die, I suppose. It makes a sort of artificial light. I'm not sure what more to say about it.. It's a beam.

Date: 2011-09-03 02:06 am (UTC)Hm. How long do batteries usually last?

Date: 2011-09-03 02:13 am (UTC)Well, you don't leave it on constantly, so it really depends on how often you use it. If you don't use it much, then they can last for years. So I'm told.

Date: 2011-09-03 02:16 am (UTC)...Oh, you can turn them off?

Date: 2011-09-03 02:19 am (UTC)Yes. Most of them, anyway.

Date: 2011-09-03 02:34 am (UTC)Firewood would be nice as well, but I haven't seen any trees here.

Date: 2011-09-03 05:27 am (UTC)And you'll be paired soon, not to worry at all.

You're going to want someone in maintenance and perhaps a few in janitorial. The man in the long scarf is the current head of maintenance, I believe.

Giving, say, a girl a gift that was worth something significant, would imply you wanted other things.
Or the other way around, sometimes.
